Dycom Industries Inc.

We facilitated the migration of a Classic ASP application to ASP.Net with C#, SQL, and Crystal Reports. Among our key solutions was the Budget and Requisition Approval System, which enables Dycom subsidiaries to submit their projected asset acquisition amounts and quantities prior to each fiscal year. The requisition approval interface provides visibility into both the specific requests and the subsidiary’s overall budget status, broken down by category and sub-category. Additionally, we developed the Verizon Tracking System, which allows Verizon to monitor the status of every work order submitted to any Dycom subsidiary across the United States. This system is utilized by engineers, field supervisors, and data entry staff for job orders, production records, damage reports, and customer complaints. To further enhance operational efficiency, we built the Crew Production System, the Fleet Classifieds platform,  the Equipment Disposal application and the Employee Attendance application, supporting HR and finance departments in monitoring employees’ working hours, vacation, absences, and holidays. Previously reliant on manual processes, the introduction of this digital solution established a national employee database, preventing former employees with poor performance from being rehired by other subsidiaries in different locations—a core purpose of the system.

  APS requested to enhance the functionality of their ERP software, Aptora. Our primary goal was to unlock the full potential of Aptora’s integration features and provide the management team with advanced reporting and analytics capabilities. We focused on utilizing Aptora’s integration options to their fullest extent. This involved delivering multiple web-based reports, entry screens, and dashboards, allowing for seamless data access and improved workflow across the organization. The newly implemented features enabled management to extract data from Aptora, combine it with information entered through a custom web application, and generate comprehensive analytics. These enhancements provided the sales, accounting, and marketing teams with innovative dashboards and reports, giving them fresh perspectives on performance and strategy. To streamline batch data processing, we developed SQL procedures that update Aptora data based on various criteria. This automation helped ensure data consistency and improved overall efficiency.

We have helped to modernize legacy desktop systems by migrating MS Access–based applications to MS SQL Server, web-based and mobile platforms. Spearheaded digital transformation initiatives for agricultural operations managing 20+ field crews. Replaced manual, paper-based data collection processes with cloud-based tools and real-time web-based dashboards, eliminating delays caused by manual office data entry and significantly improving operational efficiency, data accuracy, and reporting speed. Built interactive dashboards and reporting tools that provided managers with real-time visibility into operations, workforce activity, and key performance metrics, enabling data-driven decision-making. We successfully implemented advanced tools and dashboards that further enhanced productivity, reporting accuracy, and executive oversight. We implemented and delivered tools like Crew labeling system. The labels include barcodes that can identify GS1s, Produce Traceability Initiative (PTI), crew member’s work and performance. We also implemented other applications like Task Scheduler application, Food Safety application, Trucker Check-In application, Order Fulfillment application, Vacuum Cooler application and the Projections application, which allows upper management and the sales team to project future sales, crop production planning, land utilization and crew utilization. The application collects data from crews on the field and updates land utilization in real time.

We helped this healthcare information technology firm with the development of online transaction processing services for physicians and other healthcare organizations, offering a comprehensive solution through ProxyNet™, its national healthcare information network. Our team was responsible for creating the web-based version of the ClinScan System, enabling physicians to submit test orders directly to laboratories and receive results electronically via the same platform. The system manages patient records, insurance information, and generates up to 40 customizable reports. We developed specialized code to handle dialysis data, standing orders, Pap smear details, and billing information. To enhance functionality over the Internet, we extensively utilized ADO with our COM objects. XML served as a universal format for the network, requiring us to provide XML schemas to clients; simple parsing techniques allowed us to extract messages and direct them appropriately. For clients unable to process XML, who continued using HL7 format, we engineered a router to identify and route messages correctly.

We were commissioned to develop an application aimed at enhancing employee productivity. Our team conducted a workflow assessment of more than 15 employees who handled complex manual processes. These employees received over 200 emails daily, each containing attachments related to worker compensation cases, originating from various sources and in disparate formats.

To address these challenges, we designed and implemented a web-based platform that intercepted incoming emails, extracted and read attachment data, and systematically stored or updated worker compensation information within SQL databases. The application featured interactive dashboards that provided comprehensive analytics on processed cases, offering insights from multiple perspectives. It also supported claim editing and processing by the team.

Additional capabilities included generating detailed reports using advanced search criteria, seamless integration with internal process management applications, and real-time notifications via text messaging for flagged cases. Following its successful deployment, Stonehenge Insurance and its web applications were subsequently acquired by Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. one year later.

Over the past 18 years, we have collaborated on the architecture, implementation, and support of a diverse range of websites and internal business processes. Our responsibilities have encompassed the full life cycle development of web-based Content Management System (CMS) applications, enabling company users to efficiently manage website content. The platforms developed feature comprehensive registration systems that integrate with web services to validate members, utilizing Oracle and SQL databases for backend operations. Additionally, we have developed and maintained critical interactions with Amazon Web Services (AWS), ensuring registered members can securely access sensitive documents. Our efforts include modernizing over 50 legacy websites by addressing security vulnerabilities through the implementation of SSL certificates, improved query string management, and backend code enhancements Beyond public-facing websites, we have developed numerous ancillary Intranet applications using ASP.NET, MVC5+, and SQL Server (2016–2022).
